Readings

Don’t Panic, by Reid Wilson

A great book for people with panic problems. Dr. Wilson is one of my favorite psychology writers. He is upbeat and positive, knowledgeable, and writes clearly and plainly, without using a lot of psychology jargon.

Full Catastrophe Living, by Jon Kabat-Zinn

A practical guide for people living with chronic pain, both emotional and physical.

Skills Training Manual for Borderline Personality Disorder, by Marsha M. Linehan

An excellent resource for learning the life skills of asserting oneself, managing intense emotions, and doing well when things get tough. Don’t be put off by the title - this book is practical for anyone with skills deficits in the areas listed above.

Seven Principles For Making Marriage Work, by John Gottman

One of my favorites. Readable, positive, and with such practical information about what goes wrong in relationships and what to do to fix them. It’s written in terms of husbands and wives, but the information is easily adapted to unmarried and same-sex couples. more>>
