Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), is a natural complement to the Gottman approach. EFT emphasizes creating an atmosphere of safety in the sessions and ultimately in the relationship.

Using EFT we will explore the experiences of the couple, encouraging authentic expression and acceptance of the emotions that underlie each person’s position, in order to reestablish trust and promote healing of bonds that have been threatened or become insecure over the course of the couple’s turmoil.
