I am a licensed individual, couples, and group therapist with fifteen years of experience providing counseling to adults, children, and teenagers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
I very much like my work. I help people with tension and stress, anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties, worry, poor self-esteem, trauma/abuse, and interpersonal/relationship troubles.
I earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Antioch University, and also have a BS in Psychology from Penn State University. Since finishing school I have continued learning through workshops, lectures, books, and consultation with colleagues. For the last three years I have been studying relationships and am nearly finished certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I have worked in a number of settings including hospitals, mental health clinics, and private practice. Primarily I work in my own practice seeing individuals and couples.
I also run a weekly skills group for people wanting to be more assertive, reduce painful emotions, and thrive under stress. For more information please go to www.mapleleafdbt.com.
In addition I work part time at the University of Washington’s Behavior Research and Therapy Clinic, under the direction of Dr. Marsha Linehan, where I am a research therapist conducting groups for chronically suicidal women.
